Greenwood was raised in Toronto. She's also a professional martial artist, and trained in dance during the school. She's been studying musical theater and voice at several schools across Canada. Acting classes began in multiple places, such as the "Professional Actors' Lab" as well as the "Jason Fraser Studio" along with"Etobicoke School of the Arts" "Etobicoke School of the Arts" and"University Settlement" Drama Group. "University Settlement Drama Group". The actress earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto in 2006. The role she first appeared in was in a low-budget Canadian film called Pinkville. Her first TV appearance was in an episode of The Listener. Many of her guest appearances came from TV shows like Rookie Blue and Flashpoint. Also, she was in Being Erica, Covert Affairs and Saving Hope. Additionally, she was in smaller parts in short films like Little Phoenix, Fists of Fury and Jen in The Exit. This is her absolute favorite role. In addition, she was cast in This Movie Is Broken. In 2011, her career was launched by being cast as Sonya as a regular character on the highly rated CW series, Nikita. Nikita season 2 was an enormous success.
